Peewee U13 C, 2019-2020 (St. Thomas Panthers)

This month we are taping our sticks Blue. Blue and march are colon cancer awareness month. Not many people know much about it, even though it is the third largest cancer among woman. Colon cancer is not easily found or diagnosed. For our team we have spent the year learning how to support each other on and off the ice. This month we are standing behind our manager Angela, who's family has been changed by this terrible cancer. Join us in learning more and help spread the word about colon cancer.

So we took a little trip up to Clearview to play some different teams who are not in our league. After a 3 hour trip we hit the ice to face LUCAN again. When the game started the girls were flying and making great play's working together and had a big 5-1 lead late in the game. Then we took our foot off the gas and by the end Lucan showed us that a game is never over until the buzzer sounds. So many good things but many not so good things in a 5-3 win. 

Yup you guessed  it we tapped our sticks red. Yes it's February and valentines day is important but that's not it. Yes it's heart health month. That's defiantly something we talked about, but that's not the only reason we went red. Our Heart is the reason. As we push forward in the final part of our season, we have learned how to skate better, pass better, make better saves, work together better, be stronger and smarter. In the end it will take the heart of this great group of girls to be successful. We can do this if we put our heart out there for our team.

All year we have been tapping our stick's up to learn and support different cause's. This month we are stickering up our helmet's. So Lets Talk. As athletes we are told to be stronger, faster, tougher, and smarter then our opponents. We hear during competition suck it up, skate it off, don't just lay there get up. Some times it's Hey cupcake, princess, little girl, I'm going to beat you.

The PeeWee C team will be hosting a Book Drive January 8th in support of the Women's Community House. We are looking for donations of new or like new books for women and children ages from 2 to age 92! Donation can be dropped off at the Joe Thornton Community Centre on January 8,2020 from 5-8pm.
