Silver, Hardest medal to win
So we took a little trip up to Clearview to play some different teams who are not in our league. After a 3 hour trip we hit the ice to face LUCAN again. When the game started the girls were flying and making great play's working together and had a big 5-1 lead late in the game. Then we took our foot off the gas and by the end Lucan showed us that a game is never over until the buzzer sounds. So many good things but many not so good things in a 5-3 win.

With our great schedule we headed back to the hotel for a big night of food swimming and games, and a little apple pie for the parents. Our Saturday started with a bit of shopping for some and relaxing for the rest before the rink for game 2. After a little extra excitement of a car fire on the way, Saugeen Shores was up next. We played a bit of a scramblely chase the puck kind of game finding ourselves down a goal. That was until we cleaned up our play and did what we do best NEVER GIVE UP, we battled back to tie the game. Boston Pizza and some more shopping (Crocs anyone) before heading for late game three. Lindsay Lynx were not ready for what was about to hit them. Some more great passing and heads up play made for our team to feel like hockey was Just like the coaches had been saying all year "hockey is an easy game if you do the little things right". Wining our way into the finals. A late night swim for the girls and some more games and fun for the parents. Championship Sunday and Saugeen was ready for us. They blocked ever pass we tried, blocking shot we tried and knocking us off our game. We got behind again and then we even started to hang our heads, witch cost us a second goal. Things started to look better as we built back our game with some strong play as the third moved on finally putting a hard working goal in the net. With a quick time out and a little peep talk about it being ok to pull the goalie, we pressured Saugeen keeping the puck in there end for over a minute and getting some good chances. In the end we couldn't solve there goalie. Great weekend on and off the ice. Thank you to all the girls for some great hockey and great memories.
