Bring On Round 2!
The St. Thomas Panthers Peewee BB Girls moved on to the 2nd round of the LLFHL playoffs with a 2 game sweep of the Kitchener Lady Rangers. On Saturday, the girls took it to Kitchener on home ice. Kaitlin Ellery scored in the first minute and the girls never looked back on way to a 4-1 win. Jordyn Wilcox lead the way with a goal and an assist. Claire Banks and Kailey Dennis added a goal apiece. Gracie Clinton, Haley Agius, Amanda Vlasman and Jaylin Wismer picked up assists.
Sunday night, in a penalty filled game in Kitchener, St. Thomas skated away with a 2-0 win. Despite having to kill many penalties, Sara Verboom was solid between the pipes earning her 15th shutout of the season. Dennis scored the winner early in the 2nd period with Clinton adding a shorthanded goal late in the 3rd to seal the series. Christine Baxter and Wismer added helpers.
