Midget C, 2018-2019 (St. Thomas Panthers)

Well with hard work and a little luck the girls punched their ticket to provincials. They didn't  make it easy on themselves or the parents watching, coming down to the last game to clinch.

It took a lot of composure for the girls to pull off a win against the South Huron Sabres. They showed that they could keep their heads in the game, even being pushed to their limits. It was a great performance by Emma Carr between the pipes to hold the team in, until the offence showed up. The team was defensively sound, controlling the play in our own end and clearing the front of the net. It was a great game by our girls from start to finish. Very well done girls, lets keep it rolling. 

Well playing back to back games which was also a home and home this weekend was interesting for sure. Friday's game was dominated by Ilderton from start to finish but Saturday's game was a different story. Our girls came out a proved that they are the team to beat when they stay focused and believe in themselves. Although we did not win it was an excellent game, highlighted by a great puck movement power play goal scored by Mackenzie Costa. Well after having two weeks off the girls showed little rust in an exhibition game on Friday night. Well except making sure they had all of their equipment to play. The girls played a dominant game from start to finish, with good puck control and possession. They made great decisions with and without the puck, which made for a good game. Emma Carr posted the shut out and played very well even with the down time making a few timely saves. Having such a versatile team makes a coaches life easy. The hard part is figuring out who plays the best together. The line of Kendra, Isobel and Mackenzie scored four out of the five goals tonight making the coach look good, for putting them together. Mattie Smith also pocketed a goal to get one from our defence. The team played well and showed all through the line up that they know what they are doing in any position or line that they are put on. They even worked well on the penalty kill, getting a short handed goal. In all, it was a good bounce back game from the last one. Good effort ...
