Midget A ('01-'99), 2016-2017 (St. Thomas Panthers)

The St Thomas Panthers Midget A team are Kanata GHA Tournament Champions!   The November 11-13 tournament included teams from as far away as Timmins and other places across Ontario and Quebec.  The Panthers beat the Vaughan Flames 2-0 in the semi-final to advance to the final against the Express de AHFVG from Quebec.   In a fast and aggressive game the Panthers scored with just under a minute in regulation ‎to beat the Express 1-0 and capture the championship!  The team also had the opportunity on Remembrance Day to tour Parliament Hill and the National War Memorial.  

I would like to announce to the Team and parent group the Randy Fisher has been added to our Coaching staff for the 2016 2017 season. Randy brings to the Team a great understanding of the game and a wealth of knowledge and coaching experience. Randy will be working with the defensive core and special teams development. In addition, Dave Clinton has stepped up and has offered to be the Teams manager for next season. We will be setting up a formal team meeting in the very near future so that everyone can move on to our summer sports, cottages and life away from the rinks. See you at ...

This is a game day reminder of our exhibition game against Bluewater Hawks at 8:00 pm at the Timken Arena. I remind the girls that they are to be at the rink one hour before game time for warm-up and stretch.

First of all we would like to thank all of the girls that attended our camp this year for the 2016-2017 Midget A Team. The final 22 players and 3 goalies have made it very difficult for the Coaching staff and evaluators that have helped us get to where we are tonight.

Great effort tonight ladies. Your on ice work is making it hard for the evaluators and coaching staff as we move toward our final team roster. For those who were there tonight, you should be recognizing the increase in intensity and physicality of play at the Midget A level. You have heard us repeat the mantra that you cannot take a shift off and more importantly you cant rest for a second on the ice or the game will run you over.
