FIRST SKATE FEEDBACK FROM THE COACH
Last nights skate was a decent effort by all in attendance. You now have an idea of the energy that we will be looking for from all of our players this year. I will continue to put pressure on you during the skates so that I can see how you react in game situations.

I know that there are always first skate jitters for everyone. Especially when the Coach is in your ear for most of the skate. What was really nice to see was that you had all settled in by the time we got around to the scrimmage. We will be reviewing some of the skill challenges on Saturday night and adding in some new drills for evaluation.

Last thing that I will add regarding the remainder of the tryouts. For the players, we will be looking consistent puck control and heads up play. Aggressiveness is an attribute that you must possess in order that you survive at the Midget A level. The puck is yours and you don't want to give it up. There is lots of time to make friends once the team is selected!

For the tenders, come out and be big! Use your angles wisely and remain in control of your body position when transitioning from side to side. Play the puck when you can and communicate to your players to support them. As I told all of you, freeze the puck when you can, especially when it is near your crease.

We will see you all at the rink Saturday night. If for whatever reason you cant be there please send me a text, e-mail or phone call.
