Pee Wee BB ('04-'05), 2016-2017 (St. Thomas Panthers)

The St. Thomas Panther PW BB's traveled to Chicago over the weekend to compete in the Winter Classic.  Boarding the train early Friday morning for the 6 hour ride the girls were very excited.  They arrived in the Windy City and dined at Giordano's, a traditional Chicago style restaurant then boarded another train for trip to Naperville for the tourney.

Want to thank all of the girls for the great effort they put in over the last few weeks.  I tried to provide as much feedback and communication as possible to help the girls understand the type of game we would be playing next season. Each of them listened and made conscious decisions to keep the puck when we had it and work as hard as possible to get it back when we didn't.  This was great to see.  Over the course of the evaluations including the games the team was chosen based on how each of the girls performed playing against strong competition. Great game tonight Panthers.  Everyone played hard against a tough BAD girls team.  We talked about keeping our heads up and making good decisions and as the game went on the coaches saw more and more of this. As I stated early in the process the goal is to put the girls at the proper level to have a fun competitive year. 

Really good job today girls.  As the game went on the passing, decision making and effort got better & better.  It was very nice to watch. All of the girls will continue with the team to play another exhibition game. Below is the roster for the game against BAD in St. Thomas Wednesday night 7:30 at Timkin.

Want to thank all the girls for the great effort they put in at the last two skates. I asked for a high compete level and that is what the girls did which was nice to see.  Over the last two months I had a chance to watch most of the girls play several times in game situations.  As I said in the original tryout letter the goal of this process is to place the girls at the right level for them to have a fun competitive year.
