As the season kicks off, we want to send out a friendly reminder about a couple of important policies that help keep our Panthers community safe, respectful, and connected. The St. Thomas Panthers Girls Hockey Corporation is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all players, coaches, and families. Two key policies help us uphold these standards, specifically with our online presence:
STPGHA Social Media Policy
This policy sets expectations for responsible online communication. It ensures that all social media activity connected to the Panthers reflects our values of respect, inclusivity, and sportsmanship. By following this policy, we protect not only our players but also the reputation of our entire Panthers community.
OWHA Dressing Room Policy
While the expectation is to uphold this policy in its entirety, we would like to draw attention to Section 3.3, which prohibits any recording or still photo devices in dressing rooms or dressing environments. This means that there is to be NO CELL PHONE in those spaces, with the exception for the purposes of controlling music played. This rule is in place to protect the privacy and safety of our players, ensuring that no photos, videos, or recordings are taken within these areas and subsequently shared online.
Beyond safety and privacy, being screen-free before practices and games also supports stronger team culture. Putting devices away allows players to connect with one another, focus on the task ahead, and build meaningful relationships with their teammates.
The Panthers are fully committed to enforcing both policies. Together, they help us create a safe, respectful, and positive environment online, in the arena, and in our community.
