FAQ - Interested in our U9 Program?
We are getting a lot of the same questions come up and we’re hoping that this post may help to answer some of those questions.

When is registration?

Registration for our 4 warm up skates, and 3 tryout skates are up on our website right now. The price is $75 for these 7 skates. We’ll post a link on the main page, but you can also find the link for “RAMP” under the Registration tab on the top of the main page.

REGISTRATION

Once the tryouts are over and the teams are decided on the full payment registration will open up. This year the fee is $885. This includes a couple ice times per week and also some extra Power Skating Development skates from BK Hockey and Elite Edge Power Skating.

How do the warm ups and tryouts work?

We are hosting 4 warm up skates, starting on Sept.6th at 445pm. The rest of the schedule is below. These skates will be focused on getting warmed up for the season and making sure the girls are all ready for the 3 tryouts.

Warmup Skates -

Sept. 6th, 445pm at Joe Thornton

Sept.8th, 5pm at Joe Thornton

Sept.9th, 945am at Joe Thornton

What if I’m not sure we’re ready for a full season of hockey?

If you aren’t quite sure you or your daughter are ready to commit to a full season, we encourage you to at least sign up for warmup skates and see what we’re all about. All it would cost is the $75 tryout fee for the 7 ice times. If after the 7 skates you still aren’t sure, you could still sign up for our Fundamentals program which is only one day a week and is a great introduction to hockey. Or if hockey really isnt your thing, no hard feelings - maybe you try again next year. But we encourage everyone to come out and see what we’re all about. We promise you’ll love it!!

What is the season schedule like for U9?

The U9 team will likely have ice times Wednesday at 4:45 for practices and Sundays at 2:45 for practice or home games. Throughout the year we will have some away games which are usually Saturdays but can sometimes be on weeknights. We don’t have our division teams yet but most likely will consist of Lambeth, Strathroy, Ilderton, Chatham. We are planning on playing in 2-3 tournaments this year. One local, and at least one will be an overnight hotel stay within a 2 hour drive.

The season will run from October - March with a break for Christmas.

What if my daughter has never played hockey before?

It is quite normal for our U9 players to have only skated a few times, maybe finished a year of learn to skate - or to have never even skated before. If they are comfortable enough on the ice to stand up and shuffle around with full equipment and a stick then they’ll fit right in. Our team of coaches are experts in working with the players to develop their skills. We promise that by Christmas time you will be amazed at how far your daughter has come in her skating and hockey skills. It really is amazing to watch the progress.
