If you haven't heard Southwestern Public Health region will return to Orange-Restrict next week. With the movement back to Orange-Restrict, the Panthers will be returning to the ice, Tuesday March 2nd.

Please take some time with your staff, team and families to review the Joe Thornton Community Centre Covid 19 Facility Protocols before returning to on ice activities. The facility has also stressed to, "Please ensure all your participants and coaches are well versed and acquainted with the expectations for a safe return and no outside food or beverages permitted.

Although it is in the protocols the Board would also like to reiterate the following:

  • Face coverings required for everyone entering the facilities, and must be worn at all times in public space when not engaged with on the ice activity and until helmets are put on for on ice activity.

  • Players MUST arrive fully dressed, carrying skates, stick, helmet and water bottle only.

  • Goalies MUST arrive with their base layer, socks, and hockey pants on. They’ll be permitted to put remainder of equipment on once inside assigned dressing room.

  • Follow all signage posted inside and outside of the facility.

  • You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your ice time and depart within 10 minutes after the completion of your ice rental time. Coach or official team personnel must be present for entry.

  • Participants only granted access to the facility by a designated facility staff member 15 minutes before the rental time commences, must ensure all are present at same time for entry as a group with coach or team personnel present.

  • Participants must abide by the 2-metre physical distancing rule while entering and exiting the facility.

  • No participant permitted from coming and going, no in or out privileges of the building during your rental.

  • Except for player water bottles, outside food or beverages is not permitted inside the facility.

  • Once participants have entered arena lobby, they must proceed directly to rental area & enter assigned dressings for your rink. Remain in your dressing room until ice surface is completely ready for use.

  • Ice monitor or coach will advise once ice surface is fully prepared.

Hopefully, if we all stick closely to the protocols, we can have a safe and successful return to on ice activities. We hope you are as excited as we are to be returning to the ice.
