Hello Panthers I hope everyone is keeping well. I want to start off by wishing all the Moms a Happy Mothers Day! As things continue with social distancing I would like to encourage everyone to stay connected with each other, a phone call or a video chat goes a long way, especially at a difficult time like this. I would also like to remind everyone to continue to watch the site for any changes. With that being said, here is your Bantam Academic Excellence Award Winner.
Bantam Academic Excellence Award
This Panther started playing hockey when she was in grade 2. She later became a full time goalie. She has always been very quiet and shy, but thanks to hockey she has been more confident not only on the ice but at school as well.
Now in her first year of high school she has began to thrive because of her work ethic and time management skills. She plans out her week and homework based on her hockey schedule. She completes assignments and plans her projects a few days ahead, to make sure she doesn't miss time at the rink, and to ensure the quality of her work isn't being compromised by doing something last minute. She uses travel time to games to prepare her study notes or reviews for upcoming tests. Her confidence has grown even further because of her recent academic results, she is now achieving grades high enough to place her on the honour roll for the first time.
We are so proud of the confident leader she has become on and off the ice. Anyone who has been to our games will tell you that the quietest girl has become the loudest on the ice. She has started instructing goalies at the Panther camp. Off ice she enjoys organizing team building events. Not only has hockey given this Panther confidence and a voice but most importantly, it has given her a place where she truly belongs
Congratulations Emma Humphreys!
