Panther Board Positions and Constitution Revisions
Submitted By Dave Humphreys on Wednesday, May 16, 2018
The Panther AGM will take place on May 31 at 7 pm, at

St. Joseph's Catholic High School - Library
100 Bill Martyn Parkway,
St.Thomas, ON, N5R 6A7
Walk in front doors and turn to your left.

With the growth of our organization we find it necessary to alter our Board structure. This is a good thing!  As such there are now 15 board positions, meant to serve roughly 240 players.  This results in a breakdown of 1 board position for every 16 players, or roughly 1 position per team. Please consider getting involved at the board or committee level this year.

In an attempt to have your Panther Board be more representative of the whole organization, from Cubs to the Senior A team and from HL to A levels, you will find a list of open positions below. Those in red are new based on proposed constitutional changes and will be contingent upon acceptance of those changes.

The following are Board positions that will be vacant as of the AGM.
Executive Positions (two year term):
President
Treasurer

Convener Positions (1 Year Term):

Tournament Convenor

Ice and Ref Convenor

Equipment Manager

Lower Lakes Convenor

WOGHL Convenor

Coach and Player Development Convenor

Communications Convenor (website and social media)

Sponsorship and Marketing Convenor, (Now includes marketing)

Player Safety, Health and Wellness Convenor (Privit, Police checks and Trainers reg, as well as wellness sessions)

Special Events and Community Engagement Convenor (Banquet, Girls hockey day, panther camp, etc)

We will now begin accepting nominations and letters of intent from members in good standing for the positions listed above.     Nominations and letters of intent can be sent to this link.   These letters will be accepted until midnight May 23, 2018.  All individuals who have been nominated and accept the nomination via a letter of intent, will be posted on May 24th and voted on at the AGM.

There have also been some proposed constitutional changes meant to bring some clarity, wider representation and transparency to the association and its processes.  A revised copy of the constitution has been made available on the "About Us " tab.  This document will be voted on  at the AGM.

As per the last announcement, we encourage all to attend the AGM. I would ask that you please email our Secretary with the number attending from your family, via this link.

Thank you for considering being part of the Panthers organization.  For those of you who do not feel you have the time to serve as a Board member, please remember that there will be many committee opportunities with less or shorter time commitments that you can become involved with.
