Atom A, 2018-2019 (St. Thomas Panthers)

The Florida Panther or tan colored panthers are very rare animals, as of 2013 it is believed only 160 Florida panthers remain in the wild. This weekend in London 14 strong and proud panthers took their place among the elite in the hockey wild. The Proud Panthers, scored goals, blocked shots, and made the most of this prestigious London tournament. The Panthers were tested and took home SILVER!  An outstanding result.  Look out Woodstock, Ilderton, and London, Panther Proud is coming for you.

Round 1 is set for the 2018/2019 Atom A playoffs and it’s the Wildcats against the Panthers.  The Wildcats took the season series 2-0 winning the first game 2-1 and the second game 2-0.  Head coach Mike Ellis was asked what it will take to win this series.  “We got them right where we want them.  They will underestimate us and we will use that to our advantage.”  The Panthers are confident headed into the best of 3 series against the number 3 ranked Atom A team. 

On these cold dark days it can be difficult to get motivated, but one of the best ways to beat the winter blahs is to keep active. Join us Tuesday January 22nd at Forest Park Public School(295 Forest Ave, St Thomas) from 6:15 to 7:15pm. The Panthers have their first points of the 2019 season with a convincing 2-0 over the Ilderton Jets.  It was a game of offensive chances for the Panthers and reflective of how this team is playing just look at the score sheet.  5 different players factored into the 2 goals and that is a team contribution!   This week we have Dominos Development Night Wednesday, Practice Thursday and road game in Waterloo on Sunday.  Its National soup month...enjoy!
