Midget BB, 2017-2018 (St. Thomas Panthers)

Wanted to start by thanking everyone for their patience as we have gone through this tryout.  All of the girls worked really hard and put in a good effort.  What it came down to was that there were a lot of really good hockey players trying out and it is a three year age group. The goal of the second and third teams will be to have a fun competitive year and prepare the girls to compete for a spot on the top team next year. Good job again last night girls. In this message I am going to post the roster for tonight’s game and provide an update of where we are in the selection process.  At this point there are still over 30 skaters trying out for the second and third teams as well as three goalies that are going to play here.  A lot of really good hockey players. I have had 7 non-parent evaluators look at the girls during the tryouts which has involved games and a practice.  Not all the girls attended the Midget A tryouts but for the girls who did they had several others evaluate them and I have taken that ...

Girls really well done last night! We asked three things from the players before each of the first two games: 1.  Regroup in the neutral zone 2.  Get the puck deep when in trouble 3.  Quick shifts & keep your feet moving That is what we want to see tonight.

Congratulations to the girls who played tonight, you played very well against a good London team. Next up is a game Sunday night 7:30 at Timken v London at 7:30. It is also Mother's Day.   My bad on that one!!!

Ladies very good effort last night!! There were a lot of girls on the ice, Coach Dave and the mini helpers kept it moving. You guys provided the skill, talent and hard work which was great to see. The evaluators were really impressed with what they saw. There are 4 exhibition games scheduled and everyone will get into at least one game. A few people reached out last night and today saying they were only interested in the third team which is fine.  Do not feel you have to play in a game if you don't want to.
