Atom LL Panthers Part 4: A Battle for the Ages
This weekend is one we will remember for a long time.
We battled through sickness, injuries, and 5 tough teams in a field of 16, to go undefeated and capture gold at the London Devilettes Tournament. Against the some of the fiercest competition we have seen this year, the girls played great team hockey. In the final we were faced with playing a feisty Lakeshore Lightning team, one of only two teams to defeat us this year. The game was fiercely contested from the beginning and remained scoreless until the final 4 minutes of the 3rd period. In typical Panther fashion, we battled down low and scored two late goals, winning (2-0) our 4th gold medal of the season! What a perfect way to cap a great weekend that included everything, even a history lesson on the war of 1812.
