First Game In The Books!
Just as one would expect for the first game of the season we started out slow playing much of the 1st period scrambling in our own end against a team that already had a couple of exhibitions under their belts. Period ended 1-0 Mt.Brydges.
We got better in the 2nd splitting our time equally between ends as well as putting in our first goal of the season, an even strength marker to tie the game. Goal scored by Erin Kope, assisted by Sara Tapsell and Chelsey Douglas. Mt.Brydges went back up by one with a power play marker late in the period.
The third period was our best yet with us carrying the play most of the time. A disallowed goal (skate in crease) would have tied things at 2 but alas the game was curfewed at 2-1 Mt.Brydges.
Special thanks goes out to Cale Beardsley and Laura Gregory of the Bantam team. Down 4 regulars, including 3 defence we were very fortunate to have them help us out. Great job girls!
All in all a good game and definitely something we can build upon. Next up, practice on Monday at 9:15PM and an exhibition on Wednesday night in Lambeth in preparation for our Nottawasaga Tournament next weekend.
