Permission to Tryout Information - Existing STPGHA Players 

Players who are have been registered with an OWHA association are not allowed to skate with another OWHA association without prior approval from their current or most recent OWHA association.

What is a Permission to Tryout (PTT) and When Do You Need One?

  • A Permission to Tryout (PTT) form is required for players whom have ever been registered with an OWHA association who wish to tryout for another OWHA association.
  • Players registered with an OWHA association cannot skate with another OWHA association without obtaining approval from their current OWHA association.
  • The Permission to Tryout form ensures proper authorization and compliance during the try-out process.

What is a Release and When Do You Need One?

  • A Release officially removes you from the St. Thomas Panthers Girls Hockey Association and assigns you to a new association in the OWHA database.
  • Paper releases will not be provided. When you sign with a new association, an automatic release will be generated electronically through the registration system.
  • Before the electronic release is performed, the Registrar will verify that the player does not have any outstanding obligations to their current team or STPGHA.

Process to Obtain a Permission to Tryout (PTS)

  • Step 1: Complete the online Permission to Tryout request form. The form can be accessed here Permission to Tryout Request 
  • Step 2: Once submitted, we will process your request as quickly as possible. However, please allow up to 48 hours to receive your completed form at the email address you provided in the application.
  • Step 3: When you receive your PTT form, carefully review it to ensure all information is accurate. If you spot any errors, please email [email protected] with the details.
