REGISTRATION FOR U11-U18 TRYOUTS FOR THE 2026-27 SEASON WILL OPEN ON APRIL 1, 2026 @ 10:00AM
U9 prep skates and evaluations will be in September 2026. Please keep an eye on our website through the summer for further details.
Spring tryouts will include the following age groups:
- U11 (2016 & 2017)
- U13 (2014 & 2015)
- U15 (2012 & 2013)
- U18 (2009, 2010 & 2011)
It is the goal of the STPGHA to have 3 teams in every division. If registration numbers and ice allotment permit, a 4th team may be added.
It is the intention to offer the following U11-U18 teams for the 2026/27 season:

The team categories listed represent the intended level of play for the 2026/27 season. Final team categorization maybe adjusted at the Head Coach's discretion following tryouts to ensure appropriate placement based on player evaluations, roster composition and competitive balance.

In order for your player to attend tryouts, the following must be done prior to the player taking the ice:
1. REGISTER AND PAY TRYOUT FEE $75 Opens April 1
- Complete registration and payment on RAMP.
- Ensure you use the same login you have used in the past for RAMP registrations, do not create a new login.
- Register for the tryout package applicable to your player’s birth year.
Note: tryout registration is located under the 2025-26 season in RAMP. Each player is guaranteed 4 skates.

2. COMPLETE/UPDATE PRIVIT Opens April 1
- For insurance purposes, completion of PRIVIT is required for all players participating in tryouts.
- For the section that requires you to assign your player to a team, please choose the appropriate division for your player (U11 Tryouts 2026-27, U13 Tryouts 2026-27, U15 Tryouts 2026-27 or U18 Tryouts 2026-27)

3. PERMISSION TO TRYOUT FORM (If applicable)
- If your player is coming from another OWHA association or OWHA independent team, you must have a Permission to Tryout form from your last registered OWHA association or OWHA independent team in order to be eligible. This is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to obtain. A valid Permission to Tryout must be presented at the first STPGHA tryout the player is attending. Without a valid Permission to Tryout form, the player will not be permitted to skate until received, no exceptions.
- If you are a returning STPGHA player from the 2025/26 season, first-time hockey player or coming from a co-ed association, you do not need a Permission to Tryout form.
OPTIONAL: TRYOUT DEFERRAL Opens April 1
- The deferral process allows players to tryout for lower tier teams without the need to attend a higher tier tryout.
- Any player can defer and begin tryouts at their chosen tier. However, plans to defer must be communicated through the Tryout Deferral Request Form by April 14.
- Players are still required to register and pay the full tryout fee ($75) via RAMP and complete PRIVIT prior to tryouts.
- NOTE: Deferral to the lowest tier team does not guarantee the player a spot. Players may need to tryout out for the lowest tier team if the number of players remaining exceeds the appropriate amount of players for the roster.

St. Thomas Panthers Girls Hockey Association Tryout Policy
Note about House League: St. Thomas Panthers Local League/House League teams (U9-U15) play within the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League HL Division. This covers a large area of southern Ontario such as Belmont, Mooretown, Huron, Parkhill, Ilderton, Woodstock, Lambton etc.
