It is the goal of the STPGHA to have 3 teams in every division. If registration numbers and ice allotment permit, a 4th team may be added.
Player groupings and full tryout schedules can be found in the 2025-2026 season under the applicable team.

In order for your player to attend tryouts, the following must be done prior to the player taking the ice:
1. REGISTER AND PAY TRYOUT FEE
Please complete registration for your player on RAMP.
Please ensure you use the same login you have used in the past for RAMP registrations, do not create a new login.
Register for the tryout package applicable to your player’s birth year. Note: tryout registration is located under the 2024-25 season in RAMP.
Each player is guaranteed 4 skates for $75. The only option for payment is credit card.
2. COMPLETE/UPDATE PRIVIT
For insurance purposes it is a requirement to participate in tryouts that PRIVIT be completed for your player.
The section that requires you to assign your player to a team, please choose the appropriate division for your player (U11 Tryouts 2025-26, U13 Tryouts 2025-26, U15 Tryouts 2025-26 or U18 Tryouts 2025-26)
3. PERMISSION TO TRYOUT FORM (if applicable)
If an individual DID NOT play for the St. Thomas Panthers GHA last season and played for another OWHA Association, they must provide a valid Permission to Tryout form from their home association and bring a hard copy to their first tryout. PTTs are NOT required for players from non OWHA associations (OMHA, Alliance etc) or first time players.
*NEW FOR THE 2025-2026 SEASON* TRYOUT DEFERRAL
In previous years all players were required to attend the highest tier tryouts, regardless of skill or desire to play on a lower tier team. Based on feedback from our players and families, we have introduced the deferral process for the 2025/26 season. The deferral process allows players to tryout for lower tier teams without the need to attend a higher tier tryout.
Any player can defer and begin tryouts at their chosen tier. However, plans to defer must be communicated through the Tryout Deferral Request Form by April 24
Players are still required to register and pay the full tryout fee ($75) via RAMP and complete PRIVIT prior to tryouts.
NOTE: Deferral to the lowest tier team does not guarantee the player a spot. Players may need to tryout out for the lowest tier team if the number of players remaining exceeds the appropriate amount of players for the roster.
Note about House League: In previous years our association has had a house league team (lowest tier team) in U9-U15. However, our “house league” is not played “in house" because our numbers don’t allow for it. Therefore, St Thomas Panthers Local League/House League teams play within the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League HL Division. This covers a large area of southern Ontario such as Belmont, Mooretown, Huron, Parkhill, Ilderton, Woodstock, Lambton etc.
