FUNdamentals - 2021, 2020, 2019
This program has been designed for beginner players in their first year of hockey, born between 2021-2019 (open to older players on a case-by-case basis). Our FUNdamentals program is an introduction to hockey program, with 1 ice time per week (Saturday mornings) with no games.
It focuses on fundamental skills, balance and agility, edging, skating forward and backward, stopping, cross overs, puck handling, passing, shooting and more.
*Players do not have to start in FUNdamentals*
U7 - 2019, 2020
U7 is a fun introduction to the game where young players—whether new or experienced—build basic skills, teamwork, and a love for the sport through cross-ice games with local teams, optional jamborees, and two ice times per week from October to March.
U9 - 2017, 2018
U9 is perfect for both new and experienced players, with games in the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League, 2–3 tournaments per season, and 2–3 ice times per week plus one night of development (October to January). The season runs from October through April, starting with half-ice hockey and transitioning to full-ice games after January 15.
U11 - 2015, 2016
U13 - 2013, 2014
U15 - 2011, 2012
U18 - 2008, 2009, 2010
The St. Thomas Panthers GHA aims to offer 3 teams in U9-U18 divisions:
Tier 1 - A
Tier 2 - B/BB
Tier 3 - C/HL
Categorizing each team is dependent on coaches evaluation of the team. Team category can be moved up or down to ensure the team is playing in the division that is best for the development of its players.
