Hi All,
Thank you again for your hard work over the past few weeks. As per the Panther Board's decision, we will indeed continue with our team process in late August.
I feel this evaluation period was beneficial in many ways. First and foremost, it allowed our girls to skate and get to know each other prior to the season. It also allowed us to have a glimpse into our team(s) strengths as well as things we will need to address. We immediately noted that these girls are hard workers who aren't afraid to compete.
Some general feedback would be that we will need to be more consistent raising the puck. In 3 or 4 of our evaluation stations a red rink divider was placed across the front of the net. This was meant to simulate a goalie pad. For our daughters and team(s) to be successful in atom hockey, the girls will need to consistently raise the puck off the ice. The good news is that this is something they can work on off the ice.
For those that are interested, I have set up an Atom page in the 10,000 shots contest.
My hope is that the Atom level girls will challenge the other age divisions in the Panther association. If your daughter would enjoy this, please feel free to register her. It's a fun way to build skills.
