GREAT FIRST SKATE
We know that all of you worked hard on Sunday night,
Tryout time is the toughest part of the year, especially at the Midget level. Many young women experience their first ever "failure" during tryouts at the midget level. The combined 3 age groups make it especially hard on those coming out of Bantam. Often times you may have played AA your whole career and then at the midget level you don't make the AA team. Don't fret about that! Work hard and your abilities will be rewarded!
For those that have skated with us already, you have heard it directly from the coaching staff. If you can play you will find a spot! We are not coaches that will string you along, hoping that your other options will dwindle and disappear. Our intention is to establish our Team without drama and backroom deals. We will be straight up with you regarding where we see you with our team.
We know that many of you are skating in multiple centres hoping for your name to appear, and not a bunch of jumbled numbers, as the coaches picks. All we ask is that you give us the opportunity to respond to you if you are put in the position to have to make a final decision. We will be straight up and honest about your position with us.
Our next skate is Thursday night at 9:30 pm at Timken arena. We are working on setting up a few exhibition games for the Sunday May 7 and Monday May 8 skates. We will have our team established by that point.
For those of you that want to head our way for Thursday, please ensure that you have your Permission to Skate form signed and completed as without that you will not be allowed on the ice.
