More Success in Exhibition Action
Friday evening saw the Centennial Sports Bantam BB's play the return engagement of a home and home with the Sarnia Lady Sting.  Playing in the cold confines of rink 2 at the Sarnia RBC centre may have been just what the doctor ordered for our Panthers!

Once again the Lady Sting started the game with some tenacity hemming us in our own zone for much of the first 5 or 6 minutes while we waited for our legs to wake up or the butterflies to calm down!  Once the Panthers were able to settle in to the game there was no stopping them.  At the end of the 1st period the Score was 1 - 0 Panthers.

The second Period saw a much more tenacious forecheck on the part of the Panthers resulting in far fewer Panther turnovers and many more scoring opporunities.  Although Meghan Clutterbuck was snakebit in the game, her hard work getting to the front of the net like she has in the past two games help her points total climb quickly.  With 3 goals in the period our Panthers entered the third with a 4 goal, commanding lead!

The third saw much of the same style of play as in our last encounter with Sarnia.  The extra 13 minutes of game time is a challenge for any team but proved to be the biggest hurdle for the Lady Sting.  This early in the season a four goal come back is almost impossible especially when your conditioning is not at it's full potential!  With two more goals in the third your Panthers were able to score a 6 - 0 final and another exhibition win.

Game Notes:
Goals: Sheridan, Wilcox (2), Baxter, Gerrits and Nicol
Assists: Wismer, Dunbar, Nicol, Fisher (2), K. Smith, MacMillan, Gerrits, Sheridan (2) and Clutterbuck
Shutout Shared by C. Price and H. Smith
Penalties: MUCH BETTER

With the weekend of fun and frivolity over we are now at the start of a busy week.  The upcoming Panthers Early Bird Showcase will see the Panthers play games against the Ayr Rockets and Rochester Edge Friday and the Barrie Sharks and Windsor Wildcats Saturday.  A tournament final will be played Sunday between the 1st and 2nd place teams.  Here's to hoping your panthers can ge to the final!

Until next time....Nobody gets left behind or forgotten!!
