Exhibition Action Begins
With a few practices and a couple of dryland sessions under their belts our Centennial Sports Club, Panthers Bantam BB FAMILY came to play tonight against the Sarnia Lady Sting!

Starting a little shaky and nervous our girls managed to keep the score even through the first period despite 10 turnovers in the period.  Hunter Smith only faced 5 shots in the first but there were two or 3 legitimate scoring opportunities she turned away with the composure usually shown by grizzled veterans!

Early in the second period Rachel Baxter, "Littler Baxter" scored by banging in a rebound from just outside the crease showing the coaching staff that the girls really do listen!   With the first period out of the way and jitters all but gone the girls only allowed two turnovers and 2 shots against in the second period.

With a game length 13 minutes longer than the norm the coaching staff expected a bit of a let down in the third.  Not the case tonight.  The third was actually the best period of the game for the Panthers.  Kayla Smith managed to turn a broken clearing attempt into and end to end rush leading to a cheeky goal through the Sarnia keepers 5 hole!  Later in the frame "Littler Baxter" fired a laser from just inside the left face off dot over the goalies left shoulder!  A little more affirmation that the shooting clinics/fitness sessions are paying off already!!

Game Notes:
Shots: Panthers, 35 Sarnia - 10
Shut Out: Shared by Hunter Smith and Carlie Price
Penalties: We'll work on it!!
Panther Turnovers: 13
Goals:  Baxter 2, K.Smith 1

Until Friday...Nobody gets left behind or forgotten!!
