Panther Team of The Decade? Maybe
The St. Thomas Panther PW LL team keeps rolling along in this unbelievable season.  With a record of 34 & 4 the team is unparalleled in its success winning and developing players for their future in this great sport.  The Panthers wrapped up the league title last week with a convincing 3-0 with over the East Lambton Eagles in Watford.  In the previous game the girls had a showdown with 2nd place Kent County at the Old War Memorial Arena.  They dominated the Phillies to virtually assure themselves of the league title.

Coach Darryl Crossett has been unflappable this year when the team has faced adversity.  Whether it is an injury to a key player or getting re-catted up several divisions he has been the glue that holds this juggernaut together, not once letting his emotion get to him.  Many outsiders believe this is the key to the teams success.

Amy, Julia, Shelby, and Nicole have been rocks on defense all year long.  Audrey has been the Rance Mullinicks of the squad playing most every position and doing it well without complaint.  Wingers Heather, Taylor, Railey, Karen, Maddy, and Zoe have learned to play with a level of intensity that strikes fear into opponents as they fly up and down the ice.  Madison and Goose have controlled the middle of the ice distributing the biscuit to create a balanced scoring attack which is impossible to shut down.  And between the pipes Emily has posted a goals against average of .025, and a save percentage of 99.1 numbers that have not been seen since the great Kris Casey patrolled the net for the St. Joe's Rams teams of the late 80's.

With two tournament wins, a league championship, a number one ranking in the PW LL on www.myhockeyrankings.com what else can this team do?

When asked for comment on the teams success Coach Crossett says, "We are just taking it one day at a time and giving 110%."  Words of a true leader.

Playoffs are next, a tough match-up with Ingersol and South Huron await.  But given the track record of this squad and the can do attitude of their leader they are proceeding with a quiet confidence.
