Pee Wee BB Drop League Playoffs but Advance to Provincials
Last week started out a little disappointing for the St. Thomas Panthers peewee BB girls when they lost their league playoff series in overtime to London.

Despite winning the third game 2-0, the series was tied at three points each. Therefore an overtime was played to decide the winner. London scored 21 seconds in to move on.

Sara Verboom and Hunter Smith shared the regulation shutout.

Emilee MacMillan and Rachel Sheridan took care of the scoring.

Assists went to Jordyn Wilcox, Meredith Fisher, Victoria Baxter and MacMillan.

The team recovered quickly as they beat London twice on the weekend to capture the OWHA palydown series six points to none to earn a berth in the provincials in April.

On Saturday, Fisher and Sheridan provided the scoring in a hard-fought 2-0 game.

Allie Johnson and Heather Nicol picked the assists.

Verboom was terrific in net for the shutout victory.

In the clinching game on Sunday at the Timken Centre, the Panthers dominated taking the game 4-0.

Smith was in goal and turning away everything for the shutout.

Haley Agius and MacMillan both scored two, while Teah Burke (2), Fisher (2), Jaylin Wismer, Kaitlyn Guernsey, Amanda Vlasman, and Johnson added assists.

Next action for the Panathers is the Toronto Leaside tournament March 9-11.
