Goaltender Clinics
Quantity: 6 Goaltender Clinics (10 Goaltenders maximum on the ice)
Group 1: Younger Goaltenders.  Group 2: Older Goaltenders

The Goaltender Clinics allow all the goalies within the organization to come together for an hour long, on-ice, training session. This stream is the “skill building” portion of the development program. The clinics will allow goaltenders to meet each other and provides the opportunity for the younger goalies to interact with the older generation. In order to keep the costs low, we asked the organization to book the ice time and allow the organizations coaching staff and older players to come and participate as shooters. Not only is this beneficial for the goaltenders, but it also allows the coaches a chance to come out and learn the position and what to look for in order to aid in their goaltender coaching abilities.

With this option, a minimum of Paul Gibson and one other goalie instructor (Dan Black) will be on the ice providing drills and coaching for the goaltenders.

Throughout these sessions the focus will be on the following skills:
• Skating - Feet to Feet Movements, Edge Control, Transitions
• Save Selections/Butterfly and Recoveries - Knees to Feet Movements
• Stick Involvement, low rebound control, Knees to Knees Movements
• Post Play (VH, RVH, Post to Post Play, and wrap arounds) - Knees to Knees and Feet to
Knees Movements
• Angles and Depth Control - Low to High Movements and Situational Goaltending
• Breakaways, "Off the Rush" and "In Zone" approaches to get ready for the play
• Screens/Reactionary skills, Flash Screens, and Deflections
• Glove Saves, High Rebound Control, Blocker Control
• Playing the Puck - Stick Skills, Stopping, Skating with the puck, and moving the puck
