Health and Wellness Session 2, Presented by Dominos
Submitted By Dave Humphreys on Wednesday, December 13, 2017
Thanks to those that braved the cold last night to attend the first Panther's Wellness Workout!  We hope you will share your experience with your friends and teammates and encourage them to join us next Tuesday!

Reminder to all,  that these sessions will occur Tuesday evenings from 6:45-7:45pm. We are lucky to have these sessions designed and facilitated by Sarah Westaway.  Sarah is one of St. Thomas' best resources in the area empowerment and fitness leadership and also a St. Thomas Panther Senior A player! See her bio at bottom.

The fitness component is a great way for the whole family to keep fit (or get fit), while having fun together.  For the Panther players (all ages) this is a great dry land component to compliment all the hard work you do on the ice.

This week we will also continue exploring our topic "What it means to be a healthy athlete".

We look forward to seeing you all at the next session: Tuesday December 19th in the gym at Timken.

In the spirit of giving we also ask that you bring a donation for the St Thomas Food Bank with you.

Sarah's Bio:

Sarah is an extremely passionate woman who believes in the power of sport and fitness. Through personal exploration, she has discovered the immense benefits of having a healthy mind and body.

Sarah is an NCAA Division I Golfer and a Crossfit Level I coach. She received a full-ride scholarship to Ball State University where she graduated with cum-laude honours in her Bachelor of Science degree; School Health and Physiology and a minor in Community Health. She was awarded the Elizabeth Dunn Most Inspirational Golfer and Sportswoman of the Year from the Mid-American Conference.

Currently, Sarah is an elementary school supply teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board. She is also a member of The Canadian Academy of Lifestyle Medicine. Sarah recently completed her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India, located in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains.
